One region, learned properly, and the region next door when the brief asks for it.
Fatima Palomares founded Umbria Weddings and Events in 2014 and has spent twelve years working one region and its neighbour: Umbria, and over the border into Tuscany. Abbeys, castles, hamlets and farmhouses, with a 4.8 rating across 36 Google reviews.
Umbria is the only region in Italy with no coast and no border with another country. That is the fact behind everything else: it was never on the route, so it was never priced like Tuscany, and the twelfth century abbeys and hill towns that would be booked out three years ahead anywhere else are still, in some cases, available for next summer.
Fatima Palomares founded Umbria Weddings and Events in 2014 for exactly that reason. She is Spanish, took a degree in International Business, and worked in tourism agencies and for Prada and Louis Vuitton across the United Kingdom, Dubai and France before she came here. She stayed because the region had no destination wedding specialist in it, which was a gap and an argument at the same time.
The portfolio reads as a tour of places a couple would never find alone. The Benedictine abbey of San Pietro in Valle, with its cloister laid for dinner under chandeliers and a bell tower standing over the Valnerina. La Badia di Orvieto, twelfth century, with a marble mosaic floor and a tower you can see from the road. Castello di Petrata above Assisi, built in 1340. A Renaissance villa hidden in a forest, restored by an Italian artist. Over the Tuscan border, Villa Monaciano near Siena, where Killing Eve was filmed, and an eighteenth century villa a few kilometres from Florence.
She publishes no fee. She does publish, at unusual length, a guide to what an Italian wedding actually costs and why, which is a more useful document than a price list and a good deal harder to write.

I used to roll my eyes at friends who told me that their weddings were the best day they ever experiences, but now I totally get it and I think a MAJOR part in this was Fatima's expertise and planning. I am from Canada and had always dreamed of an intimate Italian country-side wedding, but the thought of planning from the other side of the world made me incredibly nervous. From the moment I met Fatima on video call, I knew choosing her would be the perfect choice. Fatima listened to exactly what we wanted and took away the anxiety of planning from overseas. Her communication was incredible and her recommended options were top tier (I'm talking, all options were so wonderful that it made it hard to choose!) Fatima also set expectations right out of the get-go, letting us know that North America vs. Italian culture is very different when it comes to booking timelines - her communication and constant reassurance put my nerves to rest. With how our wedding turned out, we have no doubt that Fatima only offered us the best service and vendor options. Our family and friends are still talking about the wedding months later and are even referring it to "the best wedding they have ever been to," and some have had their own or watched their kids get married! We would recommend Fatima to ANYONE and EVERYONE considering a wedding in the Umbria region and anywhere else she works! Fatima è meravigliosa!
No fee is published. The process is an initial consultation, in person or by video call, followed by a tailored written proposal with a detailed breakdown of costs and timelines. The fee is quoted against your wedding rather than taken from a tier list.
Her own published guide puts a complete wedding in Umbria at from around 25,000 euro, and about 25,000 to 30,000 euro for fifty guests. That is the total for everything, venue and catering and flowers and photography included, and it is separate from her planning fee. She also notes that Umbria costs slightly less than neighbouring Tuscany for the same wedding.
Umbria first, which is where she lives and specialises, and Tuscany, which is over the border and appears in her own portfolio. Both are stated on her site. She does not sell the whole of Italy.
Yes. She arranges symbolic ceremonies, prepares the documents for a civil union, and liaises with an English speaking priest for religious ceremonies. Two of her venues can host a legal civil ceremony on site, and Assisi will marry you in the municipality or in one of its churches.
Consultation, then proposal, then venue and vendor selection from a shortlist she has already filtered against your brief. She presents only the venues that fit rather than everything that exists, which is the part couples find hardest to do alone from another country.
Her Google Business Profile carries a 4.8 average across 36 reviews. What recurs in them is communication across time zones, the quality of the vendor shortlist, and expectations being set early about how Italian booking timelines differ from North American ones.

"Fatima Palomares was born and raised in Spain, took a degree in International Business, and worked in tourism agencies and for Prada and Louis Vuitton in the United Kingdom, Dubai and France before she founded her agency in 2014. She settled in Umbria because nobody was specialising in it, and she has spent twelve years arguing that the greenest region in Italy is also the most underrated place in the country to be married."
