A medieval castle on a 60-hectare estate near Perugia, with six outdoor piazzas and a private church.
Castello di Solfagnano is a medieval castle and villa on a 60-hectare estate near Perugia, Umbria: an exclusive-use wedding venue with six named outdoor ceremony and reception spaces, a private church, 25 rooms and a modern kitchen, for celebrations of 15 to 360.
Castello di Solfagnano rises from its 60-hectare Umbrian estate a few minutes from Perugia: a medieval fortress transformed across the centuries into a castle and villa whose stone walls, watch-towers and vaulted halls remain intact. Couples take it on an exclusive-use basis, so the whole estate becomes theirs for the duration of the celebration.
Six named outdoor spaces give the wedding its own geography. The Cattedrale dell'Amore is an avenue of ancient umbrella pines that closes like a nave overhead. Piazza 1563 and Piazza delle Torri frame ceremonies and dancing against crenellated battlements and stone towers. The Giardino della Fontana centres its formal garden on an antique stone fountain. Piazza dell'Orologio, beneath the castle clock-tower, is the grand arrival point. For religious rites, the Church of Sant'Antonio Abate stands within the grounds; for civil ceremonies, the indoor halls are licensed by the comune. The kitchen is offered to the couple's chosen caterer or personal chef, with Michelin-starred cooks available on request. Twenty-five rooms across the castle and villa, including the Suite Imperiale with its panoramic jacuzzi terrace, house the wedding party, with an outdoor pool and Umbrian valley views beyond the walls.
