A family-run Georgian barn estate in the Shropshire hills, twenty years into weddings and now run by the third generation of the family that bought it in 1919.

Delbury Hall sits in the Shropshire hills, built in the 1750s by Captain Frederick Cornewall. The Wrigley family bought it in 1919, and for twenty years the barns on the estate have hosted weddings under their ownership.
A Heritage Estate, Reimagined
The barns were working farm buildings before the Wrigleys converted them for weddings. The estate is Georgian, built of the same honey-coloured stone as the main hall, with lakes and lawns on the approach and, inside the barns, the original beams and brick left exposed. It is a family business rather than a corporate one: the same family that bought the hall in 1919 still runs it.

Patrick Wrigley, grandson of Vincent Wrigley who bought the hall in 1919, still lives at Delbury Hall and runs the wedding business with his son Jack and Jack’s wife Lucia, who was married at the estate herself in 2025.

Ceremonies Framed by Nature and Light
Couples can marry outdoors, by the lake or under the estate’s mature trees, with the Shropshire hills behind them. Indoors, the Coach House is the ceremony room: exposed timber beams strung with lights, big enough for both a stripped-back ceremony and a fully styled one.

St Peter’s Church sits at the end of the garden, a genuinely Anglo-Saxon church dating to 1010, for couples who want a religious ceremony before returning to the estate to celebrate.
A Multicultural Narrative, Seamlessly Woven
Wedding planner Sarita Toor of Let Love Be Events styled the shoot around a fusion pairing: the couple dressed in Indian couture, gold and neutral tones, set against the English countryside rather than a typical South Asian wedding setting.
“For me, it was about more than just showcasing a venue; it was about capturing a feeling and celebrating how different cultures can come together so seamlessly in a space like this,” Sarita explains.

A Canvas for Creative Collaboration

Evolving for the Next Generation
The Walled Garden Pods, added to the estate’s gardens in 2024, are guest suites for a quieter overnight stay after the wedding. Fernhalls Mill, a renovated cottage on the estate, gives close family extra space to stay on, with views across the meadows.
Lucia Wrigley: “It’s always a joy to collaborate with passionate, like-minded suppliers, and this shoot was a particularly special example of that. Each creative element, from the florals to the styling, complemented the space beautifully. It was wonderful to see everyone come together and breathe new life into the venue, infusing it with energy, creativity, and a fresh, inspired vision.”
What Delbury Hall has that a corporately-run venue doesn’t is a family actually living there: the Wrigleys have owned it since 1919, and the people running a couple’s wedding are the same people who got married there themselves.
