Some weddings are defined by a place. Cluny Castle is unmistakably one of them: a 16th-century Scottish castle, extensively restored, set within 300 acres of Aberdeenshire countryside with its own lake, ancient woodland and sweeping lawns. Reserved exclusively for one wedding at a time, the whole castle, chapel and grounds become the couple’s own.
The Couple at Cluny
Ceremonies are held in the private chapel, seating up to 120 beneath its stained glass, or outdoors by the lake. The celebration then unfolds in the candlelit Tenants’ Hall, hung with fairy lights, for up to 90 seated or 150 dancing, or in a sailcloth marquee on the lawn for up to 300 guests.
Bespoke catering draws on the finest local, seasonal Scottish produce, served by candlelight, while 15 bedrooms refurbished in tartan and antiques sleep up to 30, so the whole wedding party stays together beneath one roof in the heart of Aberdeenshire.
"We fell in love with Cluny when we first saw it; it is just the most magical place to get married."
Beyond the castle lie 300 acres of Aberdeenshire: a lake that mirrors the towers, ancient woodland and sweeping lawns, with Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms within reach, so a wedding here becomes a grand Scottish escape.
A Wedding at Cluny Castle
A castle reserved for you alone. Cluny hosts one wedding at a time, so the castle, chapel, grounds and 300 acres belong to the couple and their guests. With a chapel ceremony, a candlelit celebration and a Scottish estate all around, a wedding here is a grand, intimate Highland-edge escape.
