There is a particular quality to Cotswold stone that architects have spent centuries trying to reproduce and never quite managed. At Caswell House, they did not need to. The stone dates to 1485, the barns are original, and the only thing that has changed is the number of couples who have married in them.
Caswell House, the Cotswold stone estate at Brize Norton
Caswell House is an exclusive-use barn estate at Brize Norton in Oxfordshire: Wenmans Barn, Bartletts Barn and Joslins Barn, plus The Loggia for an outdoor ceremony, set within 300 acres of private grounds. Taken entirely for one wedding at a time, with 16 bedrooms sleeping 32 and a choice of catering partners, it is the kind of venue that makes the phrase 'the whole weekend' feel like a reasonable suggestion.

Wenmans Barn seats up to 140 for the ceremony and wedding breakfast, with space for 200 in the evening as Bartletts Barn and its Oak Bar open up alongside. Couples choose between an indoor ceremony in the barn or an outdoor one under The Loggia, the 15th-century archway at the centre of the courtyard. The bar is fully staffed with no corkage, and catering is arranged through the estate's own kitchen and preferred partners, with menus built around the couple and the season.
Caswell House does not publish a specific wet-weather plan for an outdoor ceremony under The Loggia. The obvious indoor fallback is Wenmans Barn itself, already licensed and dressed for the day; confirm the exact arrangement with the events team when booking.
The Honeymoon Suite and 15 guest rooms sleep the wedding party in the estate, with Joslins Barn and the gardens for the quieter moments. Three packages structure the stay differently: The Willow is a 24-hour exclusive hire with one night's accommodation, from £5,650; The Lavender is a two-night midweek stay (Tuesday or Thursday) with 10 bedrooms, from £7,000; The Wisteria is full exclusive weekend hire with all 15 rooms plus the Honeymoon Suite, from £19,250. The grounds extend to 300 acres of Oxfordshire countryside, secluded gardens, an ancient orchard and a moat, with Cirencester, Oxford and the Cotswolds all within reach, and London easily reached by road.
